What You Will Learn

Configure diagnostic settings to collect platform metrics and logs from Azure resources
Build Log Analytics queries with KQL for troubleshooting and performance analysis
Create alert rules with action groups for automated notification and response
Design Azure Monitor workbooks and dashboards for operational visibility

Azure Monitor is the observability platform for everything running in Azure. This course covers the full monitoring stack — metrics, logs, alerts, workbooks, and diagnostics. You will configure monitoring for virtual machines, App Services, databases, and networking resources, then build the alerting and visualization layer that makes that data actionable.

The course starts with diagnostic settings — sending platform logs and metrics to Log Analytics workspaces where you can query them with KQL. You will write queries that surface performance bottlenecks, identify failing resources, and track availability trends. The alerting section covers metric alerts, log alerts, and activity log alerts, each configured with action groups that notify the right people or trigger automated remediation.

Workbooks tie everything together. You will build custom visualizations that combine metrics and logs into operational dashboards — giving your team a single view of resource health, performance, and cost. If you manage Azure infrastructure, this course teaches you to monitor it properly.
